Just watch out when you’re crunching on those almonds and carrots that you don’t break anything. I have a lot of patients come in with broken teeth after eating nuts, especially if they’ve had a lot of fillings in the past.
Long story short, I generally don’t recommend getting amalgams replaced unless they are wearing out (but I can understand why people do). They do contain mercury, but you get far far more mercury exposure from environmental sources (such as eating fish) or having them removed than you do from amalgams in your mouth.
Leafy greens like lettuce and spinach are also really good. They’re easy on your teeth and have a ton of vitamins and minerals for better oral and total health!
